ENBICHEM Research Group

The ENBICHEM Research Group of the University College West Flanders (HOWEST) offers courses in General and Applied Chemistry (chemical principles, physical, organic and analytical chemistry), Chemical Technology (unit operations, process simulations), Biochemistry ((micro-) biology, genetics, food quality and processing) and Environmental Sciences (environmental technology, (green) energy, environmental policy). The Research Group further offers services for trade, industry and government and conducts innovative, yet applied scientific research.

ENBICHEM is divided into three research units that have specific expertise in the fields of modelling and engineering of water treatment processes (Chemistry), fermentation and chemical and microbial food quality (Biochemistry) and environmental friendly technologies such as anaerobic digestion, wastewater treatment with algae and biomethane production (Environmental Sciences).
